i4: Tell us about where do you work and what is your position.

Joe: My name Is Joe Michalski and I manage strategic partnerships for Sage’s payment processing division.

i4: What is the thing you like most about working in eCommerce?

Joe: I love the challenge of solving new problems.  Supporting emerging technologies is very exciting.

i4: Within the eCommerce universe, tell us whom do you know and what would you highlight from them?

Joe: Alibaba appears close to breaking IPO records.  Our view in the United States has been somewhat myopic  – but we’re about to be introduced to the world of global commerce.

i4: Do you know any eCommerce platform? If yes, which one and what is the best about it?

Joe: Magento took a revolutionary approach to eCommerce.  With millions of users around the globe, it’s hard to argue with their approach.

i4: Regarding the news and changes happened in the last year in the eCommerce universe, can you tell us which ones do you think are the most relevant or interesting.

Joe: Bitcoin is personally very interesting to me.  Will Bitcoin enable the technology that will break down the barriers to global eCommerce.

i4: If you could give an advice to anyone starting an online store, what would it be?

Joe: Understand multi-channel distribution.  Allow your customers to purchase from you and transfer payment to you in the manner they chose.

i4: What could you tell us about the future of your company? Which are your future steps/goals?

Joe: No other software company is better positioned to help business around the world than Sage.  We offer global ERP and accounting solutions and payment processing platforms to match.  No other company in the world can offer this.  The future is bright.

i4: And the tricky question… What do you think about interactiv4?

Joe: Interactiv4 provided us incredible direction and insight as we deepened our relationship with Magento.  They understand that technology solves problems, but people do business with people.
